My husband often comes home at the end of the week with several old water heaters ready to take off to the scrap yard. And, just like any thrifty wife, I think to myself, “How can we use these for something purposeful?”!
So naturally, I googled it.
Turns out, I’m not the first or only one to ask myself this question, and others have come up with some really neat ideas for how to recycle your old water heater. These tanks are made typically with either stainless steel or a zinc/copper material, making it ideal to withstand the forces of heat (obviously…). So what could be done with an old water heater? Here are some great ideas! Can’t wait to try one myself and post the process.

I have linked these pictures to where I found them.
Let us know if YOU have any great ideas for an old water heater, or contact us if you’d like to try a project for yourself and are in need of an old heater. We would LOVE to see what you come up with!
